Cadeler’s Wind Keeper secures Vestas contract
Cadeler has taken early delivery of its newly acquired jack-up vessel and has already secured a major windfarm installation contract with Vestas.
Wind Keeper will begin a three-year firm contract with Vestas in early 2026, with options to extend the partnership by a further 2.5 years.
The deal, worth €210 million firm and more than €380 million with options, highlights growing demand for vessel upgrades and versatile offshore wind support.

“We see increasing demand in Europe for flexible, high-performance vessels that can support both O&M and installation scopes, and she fits that profile perfectly.”
Vessel upgrade
Delivered ahead of schedule, Wind Keeper will undergo a vessel upgrade before operations commence.
Built in 2024 and featuring a 2,200-tonne Huisman crane, DP2 positioning and 120-metre jack-up legs, Wind Keeper is already engineered for challenging offshore conditions.
But the vessel will be fitted with seafastening to carry three sets of Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines and enhanced to support the expanding 15 MW offshore wind segment.
Cadeler’s fleet now totals eight vessels, with four more under construction, further positioning the company as a leader in offshore renewables and windfarm installation.
Wind Keeper’s dual role in operations & maintenance and transport and installation tasks will support both current and future offshore wind projects across Europe.
