Another first to be presented at Seawork exhibition

Commercial marine exhibition and conference Seawork, in Southampton on June 9-11, is the perfect platform for unveiling systems that have anything to do with commercial marine and water, with almost 500 exhibitors coming this year – 100 of them for the first time.

Henriksen, which has exhibited many times at the event, will demonstrate its system on stand number F34.

It enables LARS from the stern ramp of a mother vessel, with a new slipway system that makes it possible for poilice ofr military crew to board a RIB and get under way in less than two minutes.

“The new system employs the Henriksen AS expertise in the design of boat lifting and capture claw hooks that can automatically secure a line onto a craft and efficiently draw it up onto its own berth aboard the mother ship,” says the company.

“Several years of development have enabled Henriksen to overcome the snags and challenges that ships’ crews can encounter during the launch and recovery of different types of boats in difficult sea and weather conditions. Visitors to the Henriksen stand at Seawork will be able to gain a detailed insight into the winch, damper cabinets and system elements that combine to make the new HSS a valuable addition to the company’s product range.”

Rapid response times are invaluable for successful interventions at sea, and Henriksen says its new system an also quickly deploy unmanned surgace vessels or drones for mine clearance operations.

The Henriksen HSS is being made at the company’s new factory in Tønsberg, where Henriksen says there is a long tradition of maritime engineering.
