Marlink wins cyber security approval for data solution

Marlink says its solution can collect data from any equipment on both new-build and existing vessels ‘to drive efficiency and compliance’.

It enables remote users to monitor vessel efficiency, fuel consumption and emissions and is also compliant with the latest cyber security regulations in maritime – IACS UR E27, which relates to the certification of onboard equipment and systems.

With emissions penalties and regulations already in place for larger vessels and inevitable for the smaller ones, monitoring will be essential to stick by rules as well as lower costs.

This solution, says Marlink, is compatible with a range of shipboard equipment and can be scaled across an entire fleet.
