​Ocealis to reveal maritime operations platform

Seawork sponsor and exhibitor Ocealis will launch a system intended to bring vessel management, crew administration, maintenance and compliance into a single platform.

Developed by maritime safety specialist John Peacock and engineer Ben Lake, the UK-based platform has been designed to support operators managing small commercial craft working under a range of regulatory requirements.

The system combines vessel records, crew information, maintenance schedules and compliance documentation in one interface, replacing multiple systems, spreadsheets and paper-based processes commonly used across smaller fleets.

A key feature of the platform is its ability to function both online and offline. Crews can complete checks, report defects and access documents without an internet connection, with data synchronised automatically once connectivity is restored.

Ocealis says its maritime operations and compliance platform has been developed for sub-24m commercial vessel operators managing high-frequency maintenance schedules, multiple vessels and varying compliance requirements.

Ben Lake, co-founder of Ocealis, said the system was developed to reflect the practical realities of commercial operations.

“Ocealis is built around how people actually work on the water,” he said. “Operators should not have to rely on several different systems to stay on top of compliance.”

John Peacock, also an Ocealis co-founder, said the aim was to simplify operational processes and reduce administrative burden for crews and operators.

“Too often, systems in this space add more admin rather than removing it,” he said. “We have focused on making operations simpler and more reliable, particularly for crews working in environments where time and connectivity are limited.”

Ocealis is being developed with support from Innovate UK and has been trialled by commercial operators including Isle of Wight-based Rebel Marine and Williams Shipping Marine.
