Viking forges global safety pact with Johnson Controls
Marine safety equipment firm Viking has signed a global marine fire service partnership with the multinational industrial technology company Johnson Controls International (JCI).
Viking Life-Saving Equipment, a regular Seawork exhibitor, is known for manufacturing and servicing life-saving products for maritime, and the agreement means it is now the sole global service partner to JCI Global Marine and Navy (formerly Tyco Marine).
“The Marine and Navy division of Johnson Controls International is a leading global manufacturer of fire-fighting systems, having delivered thousands of high-quality and innovative systems to the maritime and offshore industry,” said a spokesman at Viking.
“JCI Marine and Offshore offers a comprehensive range of fire-fighting systems, including CO2, foam, dry-powder, water-mist, sprinkler, and alternative gases.
“We will be trained by JCI on the Marine Fire system for commercial shipping FPSO and passenger vessels. We will be the only global partner, and can provide service and genuine OEM spares anywhere around the world at any of the Marine Fire service locations.”
