Applied Acoustic Engineering of Great Yarmouth reports further significant sales of its Easytrak Portable acoustic tracking system with orders from rental companies Subsea Technologies Inc in the US and Sonar Equipment Services in the UK.
StarFish is claimed to currently be the smallest sidescan tow fish on the market, measuring less than 15 inches. It has a unique shape that is optimally designed to move through the water whilst maintaining stability and consequently improving the quality of the seabed images.
An Ultra Short BaseLine (USBL) system, Easytrak’s single transducer is designed for simple and rapid deployment either over the side of a vessel or via a gatevalve or moonpool. The company adds that with a number of transponder options as well as available software upgrades, the versatile system enables users to readily configure it to match their own requirements. It is one of two advanced USBL tracking systems designed and manufactured by AAE, variants of which have also recently been used by diving companies operating in the Mediterranean.
