Digital Video Seminar

The Society for Underwater Technology and the Hydrographic Society in Scotland are convening a one-day seminar on Digital Video for Offshore Survey & Inspection , in Aberdeen on 15 January. It will examine latest developments from the perspective of operators and contractors, including likely benefits of integrating digital video methods into existing workflows.

Main topics to be reviewed range from the latest developments in Electronic Charting, Seafloor & Shallow Water Mapping, Dredging Support, and Inland Waterway Surveying to Instrumentation, GIS, Oceanography, Data Processing & Analysis, Lidar, and Positioning. English-language abstracts of proposed papers or poster presentations on any of these or related topics are required by 16 December 2005, including those for a special student paper competition.

Scheduled speakers include those from BP Exploration, Fugro-TGS, Pipistrelle, SeeByte, Shell UK and Subsea 7. Fees are £35 for SUT and Hydrographic Society members, or £55 for non-members.
