Knudsen to Launch Sounders
Canadian echosounder specialist Knudsen Engineering is to premiere two new systems at Oceanology International 2004 at Londons ExCel Centre next March.
A global provider of offshore integrated survey services, Chessington-based Thales GeoSolutions employs around 2,000 specialist personnel with revenues for 2003 forecast to exceed ? 200m.
The first, the 320BR Plus, is designed for multi-mission tasks and features up to four independent channels for simultaneous operation covering shallow-water navigation (200kHz), mid-range hydrographic survey (33kHz), and full ocean survey and sub-bottom profiling (12kHz & 3.5kHz). Lower frequencies offer chirp and correlation processing, the company says. The other new offering is a low-cost alternative to the existing 320M system, the 320MJr. Housed in a splashproof case, the single-frequency unit is specifically designed for shallow water survey operations.
