New Simrad Navaid
Simrad has introduced its GN33 B/W GPS Chart Navigator suitable for all sizes and types of commercial, fishing and coastal vessels. The company says it is the first GPS Navigator with an integral chart plotter to be accorded Wheel Mark approval by the German Maritime & Hydrographic Agency (BSH).
Sales of the latter, the company says, approached nearly 200 units for use by oil, gas and submarine cable industries for location and survey of subsea pipelines at depths down to 3,000m.
The successor to earlier models, the GN33 reportedly provides a number of extended functions by way of meeting what Simrad claims is increasing demand for approved systems aboard small and medium-size vessels.
