AIS buys Norwegian subsea plastics innovator

AIS, which incorporates Seawork exhibitor AIS Manuplas as well as Bardot and CRP Subsea, says the purchase of Ovun is part of its ‘strategic growth plans’ with Ovun’s 30+ years of experience in buoyancy and subsea engineering.

Ovun’s location in Norway is also a major benefit, says AIS, in the heart of of key subsea and energy developments in the North Sea and beyond – ie Scandinavia.

”As we continue to grow, particularly in the renewables sector, Ovun’s rotational and PU moulding capability, along with their innovative engineering and electronics development, will be instrumental in delivering added value to both our customers, and to Ovun’s long-standing customer base, who will now benefit from the broader capabilities of the combined group,” said AIS chief executive officer Andrew Bennion.
