OEG Group adds Dutch firm to its portfolio

MSC will be taken into the group’s Renewables division, ‘further expanding OEG’s marine coordination capabilities and opening new market opportunities to offer integrated service solutions in the European offshore wind sector’, OEG says.

The move will allow OEG to build on the Dutch firm’s contacts and relationships within the industry.

OEG says it can now provide topside, subsea and marine services to the offshore renewables sector.

Of OEG’s 12 acquisitions, at least three were made last year.

In September, OEG Renewables bought the marine survey firm Geosight to add hydrographic and multi-sensor geophysical surveys to its portfolio.

In April it snapped up the consultancy, engineering and installation management firm Pelagian, and a month earlier announced the purchase of Manor Renewable Energy, the power, engineering and vessel business.

Despite a few bumps in the road in the past couple of years, with projects being scaled down or ditched, the rapidly expanding OEG Group believes the growth outlook for the industry in Europe is healthy, and the bloc does have a target of doubling current capacity by 2030.

“This will provide significant opportunities in both the installation and O&M market as the assets age,” OEG says.
