Rovco appoints new chief operating officer
Fraser Moonie has been appointed chief operating officer at subsea technology firm Rovco.
Based in Scotland, Moonie has 25 years’ experience in the offshore sector, including more than 13 years at Bibby Offshore, where ultimately he took the helm as president and managing director of Bibby Subsea.
Rovco CEO Brian Allen says the appointment comes as the company sets out plans to diversify its activities with two new dedicated business units – IRM, to focus on inspection, repair and maintenance ROV-based work, and site characterisation, which will fopcus on providing geotechnical information and services.
“Fraser joins us at an exciting time as we progress with plans to grow on an international level, bringing our industry-leading solutions closer to our clients operating around the world in decommissioning and renewables,” said Allen. “His extensive experience, particularly in relation to developing and implementing both domestic and international expansion strategies, will be crucial in helping Rovco fulfil its growth ambitions over the next few years.
Moonie joins Rovco from Asia-based Mermaid Subsea Services, which has won major decommissioning contracts with North Sea operators.
