Landfall Works Complete Africa/Europe Pipeline Link

Constructing two delicate landfalls in Sicily and Libya, the Belgian DEME Group is creating the tailpiece for linking North African gas resources to the European mainland. The work is being executed by Sidra , DEMEs Italian subsidiary, and Tideway , the specialised DEME subsidiary which services the global oil and gas industry.

With the Castoro Sei pipe laying vessel in the background, the vital gas pipeline link is pulled ashore between the flanks of a cofferdam which crosses the sand dunes at Gela in Sicily.
