Crew transfer vessel handover for Goodchild

A Goodchild Marine crew transfer vessel was handed over to Commercial RIB Charter (CRC) at Seawork following its build in record time.

The aluminium-hulled 15m multi-role Cabin RIB was designed specifically for CRC

The aluminium-hulled 15m multi-role Cabin RIB was designed specifically for CRC and will go into wind farm related service in August of this year.

“This vessel is unique for two reasons. Firstly, it has been built for a unique market. It is easily road transferable and operate on its own or off the deck of a cargo ship as a daughter ship,” said Alan Goodchild, managing director, Goodchild Marine.

“Secondly, because of its speed of build.”

Powerful

The CRC Voyager can carry 12 passengers and two crew with a 1,500kg payload. With a shallow aft it is MCA Cat 2 accredited.

It is powered by two Volvo Penta D6-435 engines with two Hamilton waterjet HJ332s and a Fischer Panda 8000 generator.

The vessel features a large clear aft deck area with stowage and mounting points and two rescue zones complete with Jason’s Cradle. The cabin contains 14 Grammer suspension seats, a galley unit, heads and a shower.

The vessel build was begun in October 2017 and was finished the week before Seawork.

Goodchild is currently building a further two vessels for CRC.
