‘Dalby Swale’ delivered at Seawork
‘Dalby Swale’ (V28) the new Alicat Built 23m Wind Farm Support Vessel is being delivered to the company at Seawork, where it will be officially christened, accepted and available for inspection.
The Dalby Swale will strengthen Dalby Offshore’s expanding fleet to a total of 10 vessels and comes just two weeks after the announcement of the commissioning of the Dalby Wharfe WFSV a 21m vessel, also built by Alicat.
This is the first of the new Alicat 23m designs with extended waterlines for greater passenger comfort and fuel efficiency.
Powered by twin MAN V12-1400 1400hp Diesel engines coupled to Rolls-Royce FF500 water jet units, the vessel achieves a sprint speed of 32 knots and is capable of cruising at speeds in excess of 25 knots with full tanks and a full complement of 12 passengers.
The vessel features numerous systems including fuel transfer capability to supply offshore generators, a pressure washer to wash down boat landings and ladders, integrated through raft anchor recovery system and a hydraulic deck crane. Internally the vessel features 12 sprung seats, galley, mess seating area and access below for storage and through hull access.
The upper bridge is accessed via a stairway from the saloon and features a fully integrated ship control, as well as monitoring, navigation and communications systems across the front of the bridge.
The Dalby Swale will be the first vessel of its kind to feature the next generation in marine suspension seating. NAUTech Seating by Jankel provides optimum protection and comfort for the occupant in all conditions. The system is being launched at Seawork by Jankel, with live trials being carried out on the Dalby Swale.
The naming ceremony will take place on Tuesday 10 June at 1600. Her godmother will be Emma McNiven, the daughter of Stuart Mcniven, Owner and Managing Director at Dalby Offshore.
