With the increase in production for the first ever SWATH vessels constructed in advanced composites and carbon fibre currently in build at Danish Yachts, the shipyard’s workforce has risen by 75 people in the last 12 months and it’s still recruiting.

The result has been a coveted award from Frederikshaven Business Council for a positive contribution to significant business development and commitment to industry growth in the region.

Patrik von Sydow CEO at Danish Yachts, said: “This is an official acknowledgement of the hard work and diligence from our workforce. With three further vessels due to launch this year, Danish Yachts is pushing new boundaries in terms of technology and we are delighted to be exhibiting at Seawork to further promote the SWATH range to the European market. We see Seawork as a key exhibition for our new commercial builds.”

Now well into the final stages of sea trials for the first in the series of the new SWATH vessels, constructed in advanced composites and carbon fibre, FOB SWATH 2, launched recently by Danish Yachts, in Skagen, is undergoing final upgrades prior to handover.

The vessel’s duties will be to include transporting construction and maintenance teams to the wind farms in high-speed cat mode and then transferring them safely onto the turbine. By operating in SWATH mode, the vessel can provide a stable platform for transfer in a seaway and provide a sturdy, yet dynamic operations platform.
