Door of opportunity opens at Seawork
Westmoor Engineering Ltd will be returning to Seawork International exhibition with another product in its range, the Series 1000 door.
This versatile product can be augmented to suit the customer’s needs, be it watertight, weather tight, gas tight or sound reducing.
During Seawork 2011, a container company approached Westmoor to discuss a bespoke, cost effective and usable door option with weather tight properties for offshore application. Westmoor willingly obliged by designing, manufacturing and testing (in-house) a prototype.
Westmoor Engineering project engineer and Series 1000 designer, Jack McCusker, was delighted with the eventual outcome. “This matched both a market need and Westmoor’s continued product development, it was a great opportunity to get several elements of our expertise into one product”, he said.
Westmoor Engineering began life as a ship door manufacturer and supplier in Sunderland during the shipping boom of the 19th Century. The company was acquired by the Renown Group in 2009 and has undergone substantial development as a result. The product range is now modernised and expanding, with a bespoke approach to products and new product development at its core.
Westmoor will be returning to Seawork 2012 on Stand B 195, displaying the new Series 1000 and the other door and hatches in the product range.
