HydroComp Propeller Mini Workshop
US based marine software designer, HydroComp, will be holding a propeller mini workshop at the Hilton Southampton Hotel, UK, on 24 June 2013, prior to the opening of Mercator Media’s Seawork 2013 exhibition.
The mini workshop, which will be led by the company’s technical director, Donald MacPherson, has been designed for anyone involved in the design, construction, operation or management of workboats or similar craft.
It will be split in to two half day seminars, Successful Pre-construction Propeller Selection and Documenting and Troubleshooting Post-delivery Performance. These will focus on a range on topics including principles of marine propulsion, initial propeller sizing, boat test analysis and troubleshooting problems.
HydroComp will be exhibiting at this year’s Seawork for the first time where it will provide demonstrations of its PropExpert software which provides the tools needed for the correct selection of propulsion system components – engines, gear and propeller – for workboats and pleasure craft. The company’s other software packages will also be available for demonstration and review, including NavCad, PropCad, SwiftCraft and SwiftTrial. The new PropElements software for detail propeller design and analysis will also be shown for the first time.
