Managing vital maritime assets at Seawork

Delta Systems, which makes its début at Seawork in 2014, has built a reputation and a system for enabling operations staff, technicians, subcontractors, vessel crew and remote site personnel to keep up to date with asset location and fitness for purpose.

Turbine Transfers Ltd has invested in a Delta system to meet the demands of its fleet

Assets can include vessels, wind turbines, cranes, gangways, pontoons, vehicles and any equipment needing defect management, planned maintenance, spare parts, SOLAS equipment cycles, certification or calibration in one integrated, fully networked package.

The system will automatically communicate across the full management, staff, sub-contractor and vessel crew network.

Patrick Ellis, Delta’s MD, served an 18 year career as an RN officer and this, together with his considerable experience as an active RYA Offshore Yachtmaster, have given him a wide knowledge of the sea and vessel management.

In 1998 Delta Systems designed an onboard defect reporting and planned maintenance system for the luxury yacht industry. Patrick Ellis told MJ: “The system we designed was installed on several very large vessels, including Mayan Queen IV and Tatoosh (both over 90m LOA).”

Since then, Delta has designed a full defect reporting and planned maintenance system, integrated with certification and spares management in Visual Studio to produce a versatile, comprehensive Asset Management System for the maritime and manufacturing industries.

In 2011 Holyhead Towing Company Ltd commissioned Delta to expand the system to manage their two fleets from their shoreside HQ in Anglesey UK.

Richard Hughes, the engineering superintendent of Holyhead Towing Company Ltd and Turbine Transfers Ltd says: “We have invested in a system that meets the demands of our fleet of vessels. The diversity and size of our business means that we have varied requirements on what type of information we need to have quick access to. The Delta system takes care of our requirements and the back up support has been quite excellent.”

The System has also been purchased by London based Top Fenders Ltd as a Maritime Asset Management System to manage their assets worldwide.

Delta is presenting the system at Seawork 2014 on Stand A107.
