Mara EFS develops innovative and cost-effective buoy swivel
It has been nearly two years since Jebb Smith Ltds Mara Engineering for the Sea (Mara EFS) brand launched its innovative mooring system at Seawork International 2016. Now the company is back with a brand-new feature which upgrades one of its buoys with a cost-effective swivel function.
The swivel has been designed for the Mara Buoy Static, which is a simpler and more competitively priced version of Mara EFS’s original buoy, the Mara Buoy Dynamic.
“The new swivel feature allows the Mara Buoy Static to have an above water swivel which is easy to inspect and maintain. It is a cost-effective way for small marinas and harbours and individual boat owners to get most of the functionality of the Mara Buoy Dynamic but at a fraction of the price,” said George Smith, Mara EFS.
Innovative
The swivel feature has been designed to easy to inspect and service because it’s inserted into the mooring line, so the swivel action happens above the water.
A traditional swivel is normally underwater, moves steel on steel, and corrodes and wears out very quickly. It’s also not serviceable. But the components in the Mara EFS swivel can be replaced making it 100% serviceable.
The original Mara Buoy Dynamic was developed as an innovative mooring buoy for yachts and small commercial vessels back in June 2016.
Mara EFS’s new swivel feature will be launched at Seawork International 2018.
