Mastervolt launches Commercial Department

Seawork exhibitor Mastervolt UK has established a specific Commercial Department to work exclusively with commercial marine clients.

Mastervolt’s Mass Charger range of battery chargers is being widely adopted by the commercial marine sector.

Working alongside Mastervolt will be Aquafax, the UK based international distributors of marine equipment, and also additional service agents.

With its headquarters in The Netherlands, Mastervolt has a long history and in depth experience of working throughout the European Union and across the rest of the world. The company plans now to expand its UK workforce and to tap into the rapidly growing offshore wind farm market with its numerous construction and crew movement vessels, as well as supplying and servicing electrical systems for all types of workboats, pilot boats, tugs, fishing vessels and rig support and supply vessels.

The Mastervolt Commercial Department now offers high levels of expertise with both pre- and after sales service. Its already large technical team can offer research and development facilities, either working with or on behalf of clients. Technical training in electrical systems and equipment can be offered at either Mastervolt UK’s base in Romsey or at the Mastervolt HQ in Amsterdam, according to requirements.

Installation, commissioning and testing is offered through Mastervolt’s existing facilities in more than 80 countries and all equipment carries the company’s standard two year warranty. Next day express delivery of standard items is routinely provided. All installed equipment is NMEA 2000 compatible, for enhanced speed of data delivery, and is readily integrated with existing on board equipment, yet is particularly quickly and easily installed where Mastervolt’s own MasterBus wiring system is used.

A further service being offered by the new Mastervolt Commercial Department is to provide comprehensive technical advice and support for electrical power supply systems both during commercial boat construction on the builder’s production line and during the MCA Coding process when suitable equipment is being selected and installed prior to coding inspection and certification.

One of the Mastervolt products which is being widely adopted by the commercial marine sector is its Mass Charger range of top end battery chargers. These rugged chargers have proved completely reliable in some of the harshest conditions afloat, where they have been challenged by heat, vibration, humidity and condensation but have continued to function as designed. Connected via the MasterBus system, the Mass Chargers are available in 12, 24 and 48 Volt versions to meet the demands of commercial ships, exploration vessels and offshore wind and oil installations, ensuring full battery power is available 24/7.

Marketing manager for Mastervolt, Marc Persoon said, ‘This new, dedicated, Commercial Department will enable Mastervolt UK to enhance its position in the commercial marine market, while maintaining and developing our existing strong base in the leisure arena. Each sector will also benefit from the other in terms of research and development.’
