Quality for Marine Police at Seawork
Poole UK based Wessex Marine has earned its long service medal as one of the only exhibitors at Seawork to participate every year since the event’s origin.
Wessex Marine has watched Seawork grow every step of the way from its humble beginnings to become Europe’s pre-eminent commercial marine exhibition, and is the proud yearly holder of Berth Number One on the Seawork pontoon.
The Targa range on display from that location has become the definitive choice for Police and Fast Response services over the last 25 years in at least seven countries, including Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Slovakia and France. This amounts to a highly significant total of over 40 Targas built for dedicated Police duties.
The team of Finnish builders Botnia Marin and Wessex Marine has ensured that Targa is already a
top choice for UK and Garda policing duties. Wessex Marine is currently in communication with at least three dedicated marine police forces for possible future fleet replacements, with news of the latest order expected to be announced at Seawork. Various Harbour Masters are also finding that the Targa range offers a craft to suits their own specific requirements.
Outstanding features which make the Targa range so popular with marine police forces include flexibility and fast response, year-round seagoing performance, crew comfort and safety.
For over 18 years now Wessex Marine in Poole has been the home of Targa for the whole of the UK and Ireland, with its dedicated team providing sea trials, responding to customer feedback, fine tuning vessel specifications, taking the vessel into build and delivering a smooth and satisfactory handover. Wessex Marine also has the ability and determination to deliver outstanding after sales support to minimise time out of service.
At Seawork this year Wessex will be exhibiting the Targa 35 model in police identity. Both the 31 and 35 model are popular choices for police and patrol work. The 35 at the show will be the latest variant, with an improved and enlarged CFC forward cabin format. This format provides increased scope and comfort for overnight operators and more interior space for survey use.
