Seaglaze shines
UK-based South Boats IOW has placed two orders with Seaglaze for boats to be completed in 2014 which require high quality, toughened and screen printed glass.
Seaglaze will use its new company, STG, to supply the glazing to go with its recent frame innovation ‘Hidden Frame’, launched at Mercator Media Ltd’s Seawork 2013.
The company has invested in innovative machinery to provide customers with a high quality and complex glazing product to tight deadlines.
Alastair Clayton, managing director, said: “This expansion is the culmination of many years of planning, in line with our aim of becoming the pre-eminent, British-owned supplier of marine closures.”
“The industry has evolved significantly over the past four years, with lead times, quality and pricing all shifting; with this investment Seaglaze will meet these future requirements,” he added.
Seaglaze will start toughening and digitally printing on its premises in Norwich from July 2014 to manage increasing requirements.
The manufacturer has taken on 5000 sq ft of new premises next door to its existing, purpose-built factory. New machinery is currently being installed and recruitment is well under way.
