Seaglaze toughens up
This year’s Seawork International saw Seaglaze Marine Windows announce the launch of its own glass toughening and digital printing facility.
Operating under the name Specialist Toughened Glass Ltd, Seaglaze will have access to fast turnaround, high quality glass.
The company owns what it says is one of the most advanced digital glass printers, enabling it to offer UV stable digital printing whether it be for edgework or detailed imagery.
Seaglaze says the commercial marine industry will benefit from higher quality at a lower lead time, also assisting with replacements and refurbishment where downtime must be minimised.
The first pieces of glass are soon to be produced, and long-term customer, South Boats IOW, has confirmed it will take the first two sets of toughened printed glass. These will be glazed into Seaglaze’s Hidden Frame section and fitted to South Boats’ latest 22m catamarans.
The new facility will be located in new premises nearby its existing factory.
