Seawork Awards open for business

Exhibitors at Europe’s largest commercial and workboat exhibition, Seawork International, are now invited to submit their innovative products and service entries into the Innovations Showcase.

The 2015 Seawork International Awards winners

Seawork’s Innovations Showcase and Awards have been devised to encourage, reward and gain recognition for the outstanding work that businesses and individuals are doing within the commercial marine sector. Between 14-16 June, visitors to Seawork will have the opportunity to see new products, projects, services and vessels that have been introduced by Seawork exhibitors during the past twelve months, at one time and in one place.

SHOWCASING INNOVATION
The Innovations Showcase comprises submitted entries displayed within one of Seawork’s exhibition halls.

Judged in six main categories, a certificate of commendation is awarded to the winner of each category. To qualify, all entries must have recently come to market and provide a valuable solution to any aspect of the commercial marine sector such as design, technology or application.

Entries are encouraged from all aspects of the sector, from Vessel Design & Construction, Marine Civil Engineering & Construction, Marine Equipment, Electronics & Materials, Diving & Underwater Technology, Renewable Energy, through to Safety & Training.

Entry is free of charge, and not only does the Showcase provide extensive publicity and opportunities to the entrants, this Showcase also recognises the wealth of new ideas, skills and technologies which exist in the commercial marine sector. The overall winner also receives the highly coveted Spirit of Innovation Trophy, sculpted by John Mellows from Azure Dragon Design.

Exhibitors who have a new and innovative product, vessel or project that was launched or completed within the last twelve months are encouraged to apply for inclusion in the Innovations Showcase. The entry form is accessed via the online Seawork Exhibitor Manual.

NEW FOR 2016
Seawork International will also see the launch of a new commercial marine award, the Seawork Sustainability Award, which will provide recognition to the leading sustainable business that clearly demonstrates that it addresses current environmental concerns, and furthermore shows how it continually strives to improve this.

HIGH ACHIEVERS
In 2014 Seawork’s organisers, Mercator Media, launched the Maritime Professional of the Year Award, which was devised to celebrate the passion and commitment shown by one outstanding individual operating within the commercial marine industry.

Nominees for this year’s award must work for an exhibitor of Seawork International 2015. Nominations are encouraged by 27 May 2016 and the shortlist will be announced across Seawork’s official social channels on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube and the blog at www.seaworksocial.com

AWARDING SUCCESS
The Awards culminate in the ever-popular Seawork Awards and Networking Event, which is held on the evening of the opening day of Seawork International, 14 June 2016 in Southampton. More than 400 industry professionals come together for a relaxing and informal evening of networking, whilst celebrating achievements in the commercial marine sector. Small business financing specialist URICA is returning again as sponsor of the Innovations Showcase and the Innovation Awards.
