Seawork Encounter Paints the Town
Williams Shipping has been appointed as agents for Jotun Paints following talks which were initiated on the Williams Shipping stand at Seawork 2004 .
Jotun’s products had been used on Williams’ own vessels for many years to great effect while Jotun itself was looking for a Southampton company to act as its agent and was aware of Williams Shippings’ reputation for providing a professional and flexible 24 hour distribution service.
The recent appointment sees Williams Shipping acting as agents through their specialist subsidiary Williams Lubricants & Supplies Limited, which is based at Millbrook, Southampton.
Although it is early days, Williams’ joint managing director Colin Williams expressed satisfaction with the response from local maritime companies and said the business is developing ahead of expectations.
The first major project involves the refit of Williams Marine & Port Services’ own workboat ‘WMPS Sea Horse’, which is currently underway at Mustang Marine in Pembrokeshire. Mustang has completely blasted the boat and applied Jotun Mastic 87 epoxy primer, to be followed by various Jotun topcoats. The refit also includes new Daewoo engines.
Both companies are exhibiting again at Seawork 2005 and visitors to their stands will be welcome to discuss the new venture and how it might benefit them.
