Seawork first for engineering solutions provider

A British engineering solutions provider will be looking to market its crane slip rings, wind turbine solutions and underwater lighting for the first time at Seawork International this year.

BGB wants to show off its innovative new products to the windfarm sector and expand its reach across the industry

The company’s aim is to show off its innovative new products to the windfarm sector and expand its reach across the industry.

“One of the new products on show will be our innovative contactless underwater lighting system – BGB SILS. SILS (Submersible Inductive Lighting System) is underwater lighting which requires no drilling or holes in the hull when fitting, a world’s first for the industry,” said James Tupper of BGB Innovation.

“Fully controlled by your own mobile device via an app, the colour changing LEDs produce a flare of light to illuminate the area around the vessel, a growing trend in the boating industry.”

Product innovation

Another innovation on BGB’s stand at the exhibition is its new maintenance free brush system, HiPerCon.

The technology offers an improvement over traditional carbon brushes in both data and current transfer while significantly decreasing the service periods and acoustic and electrical noise.

Silver alloy fibres offer an exceptional improvement to service life and higher speeds compared to gold wire technology, creating a considerable price advantage. According to BGB, the brush has the ability to be maintenance free for the whole life of a wind turbine.

Both products will be on show together with a selection of slip ring assemblies and Fibre Optic Rotary Joints (FORJ).
