Seawork Small Craft Surveyors Forum

The Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association (YDSA) will hold its Small Craft Surveyors Forum at this year’s Seawork International exhibition.

The Seawork conference this year will take place on board the vessel ‘Ocean Scene’

The ‘Workboats and Surveyors’ forum itself will take place onboard this year’s conference venue, the vessel Ocean Scene, moored alongside the exhibition hall, on Wednesday 17 June.

First on the table for discussion at the forum, which runs between 13.30 and 1700, is the topic of Surveying by Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), being hosted by Richard Morris, principal technical project manager and Gary Venning, technical hull surveyor from the RNLI.

Then there will be a Q&A with the MCA. Jenny Vines will be available to give a quick update on the Workboat Code and any burning questions surrounding the issue.

There follows a talk by Simon Mockler, DNV-GL on offshore windfarm support vessels. He will look at issues of design, propulsion and crew transfer from the perspective of the class society.

The seminar is free to attend but delegates need to book in advance at info@ybdsa.co.uk or by calling 01730 710425.

Delegates can also book online

Seawork International takes place from 16 to 18 June at the ABP Port of Southampton. Visit the YBDSA on stand SB7.
