SMS Group unveils Bulldog workboat designs

SMS Group has revealed a range of multi-role Bulldog workboat designs at Seawork International 2019 to help expand its services and grow its business.

Its new range consists of a revised fleet of standardised workboats, support vessels, landing craft, anchor handling vessels and aquaculture support vessels, ranging from 9.5m to 35m and built with steel to MCA code and classifications including Lloyds and DNVGL.

SMS Group small boats manager, David Rutter, said: “All our workboats are versatile, we can adapt to whatever is required.

“We have a 24m vessel already in-build for ytuna farming and that’s going to be going to Malta in the next couple of months.

“We hope to be building many more and we have options for leasing and financing.” He added that in the future, SMS Group hope to have stock vessels in the range.

SMS Group said it was working closely with Walker Marine Design (WMD) in the development of new vessels.

Chris Norman, managing director of SMS Group, added: “This new investment helps to secure our prominence within the UK, and international, workboat space too.”
