Finnish builder wins Norway Defence vessel order
A Finnish boatbuilder has secured a contract to build a safety and support vessel for the Norwegian Defence Material Agency.
Weldmec Marine said that the contract to build its own Serecraft P13 model, also includes the option for the future build of one further vessel.
“This contract is yet proof of Weldmec Marine’s successful export oriented efforts on new customer segments,” said Jari Ahoranta, CEO and managing director, Weldmec Marine.
“Generally, this strengthens the market position of Weldmec Marine as one of the leading manufacturers of professional boats in the Nordic countries.”
Aluminium build
The serecraft P13 will be specially equipped for challenging duties and conditions.
A fast aluminium built boat, 13m in length, equipped with twin Yanmar engines and Rolls Royce waterjets, with speed capability up to 40 knots, designed and built according to DNV-GL class.
Weldmec Marine Ltd is a family owned company founded in 1996 and located in Porvoo, Finland.
The company focuses on professional and commercial boats, as well as demanding fabrication in aluminium and steel, especially for the marine industry.
Its speciality is its Serecraft commercial boat range and workboats for other OEM brands. It also offers docking, service, repair and conversion job for commercial boats.
