Agreement Announced
A&P Group have announced an agreement between A&P Shipcare at Chatham UK and Metalock Engineering (UK) Ltd, proposing an inter-company co-operation venture. The agreement formalises a working relationship of many years standing. Matalock regularly carries out work at all A&P locations and, like A&P, are ISO 9002 accredited.
Technically called ‘the cold straightening of bent propeller blade tips afloat during commercial operations’, the procedures and operations currently being tested allow propellers to be restored to their former optimum condition or to a condition not affecting propeller efficiency whilst minimising cavitation effect.
The formal asociation is expected to increase Shipcare’s specialist service to their customers and also yards within the Group whilst facilitating a broadening of the range of services Metalock can offer.
