Maritime Partners 2000th boat

Since the company was established in May, 1994 the company has built a wide range of patrol and rescue boats for clients around the world. “Recently we have scored a major success with our larger rescue and patrol boats. We are confident that turnover and profits will continue to grow in line with previous years,” said managing director of Maritime Partners, Peder Myklebust. “This steady growth in our business comes from several factors. A large part of our market has its origins in our Norwegian relationships. It has been natural to base boat quality and standards on North Sea conditions and the strict requirements of customers in the offshore arena of the North Sea. The high standards required for this market have been the basis of the quality boats to we supply to our overseas clients.”

“Today our boats are spread over a customer base and many different markets worldwide,” said Myklebust. “We have been able to grow continuously and steadily because our customers operate in an international market, and we have invested in building an extensive sales and service network. The most important thing in our business is our loyal customers whom we have supplied over many years. They are the people who create the basis for what we do and enable us to invest further, and also to develop larger boats,” Amongst the many clients of Maritime Partners are famous names in the offshore area such as Farstad Shipping, Havila, Swire Group, A.P. Moller (Maersk Supply Services), Kleven and Vard.

Boat number 2000 is destined for the Kleven shipyard with Maersk as the owner of the vessel for which the boat is destined. Kleven has proved itself a good customer for Maritime Partner over the years and in the period from 2009 to the present day, Maritime Partner has supplied many MOB rescue boats to the shipyard which this year celebrates its centenary. Since 2008 Maritime Partner has delivered, or has on order, 57 boats for Kleven and altogether Kleven has taken or ordered 103 boats from Maritime Partner. Many of the contracts have also included launching davits.

The latest order from Kleven was signed in December 2014 and covering six Seabear 23 Mk III boats and six MacGregor AC38 davits. These will be installed on board anchor-handlers that Kleven and Myklebust Verft are building for Maersk Supply Service. Among them will be boat number 2000 from Maritime Partner. The contract between Kleven and Maersk Supply Service also includes options for a further four vessels. Maersk Supply Service has been a steady customer of

Maritime Partner for several years and they use Seabear 23 boats on all their ships that require fast rescue craft to be carried. Until now, Maritime Partner has delivered, or has contracts for, altogether 63 boats for Maersk, 53 of them to the Seabear 23 Mk III design.

In addition to the boats for the anchor handlers under construction at Kleven, four boats of the same model will be supplied to Maersk through the Chinese yard Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co Ltd, which also builds offshore vessels for the giant Danish Group to the MT design from Marinteknikk.

Boat number 2000 from Maritime Partner is a Seabear 23 Mk III. This model of boat is equipped with a side by side cockpit, a Volvo Penta D3 engine of 200hp, a Naiad Vosper PP90 water jet and has a top speed of 34-36 knots. The boat will be supplied with a rescue frame and VHF.

Maritime Partner has also built a number of shore based rescue and lifeboats that are used widely in European and Mediterranean waters and the company has just delivered the 5th. Alusafe 2000 to the Algerian Defence Department. Another recent delivery is an MP1000 inspection boat to the Norwegian Coastal Administration. The company derives its name from the grouping of companies that came together to form Maritime Partners and they include the brand names Alusafe, Springer, Seabear and Weedo which represent many of the pioneering names in Norwegian RIB building.
