Modular cable repair for offshore wind cables

Developed in partnership with Royal IHC, the modular spread is transportable by road and can be mobilised in under 48 hours – helping dramatically reducing downtime from subsea cable faults.

Plug-and-play

DOF’s repair system includes key components such as a quadrant handler, tensioner and roller tables, all engineered for plug-and-play use. Its compact design ensures minimal deck space usage while maintaining full cable integrity throughout all marine operations.

This investment follows the successful completion of a high-profile subsea cable repair project for a major operator in the Netherlands in 2024, where DOF deployed its owned vessels and existing repair spread to restore service with minimal interruption.

Mr Rasch added: “By owning both the vessels and the modular repair spread, DOF offers clients a level of control and responsiveness that’s otherwise difficult to achieve.”

With multiple frame agreements already secured across Europe, the US and APAC, DOF’s new system marks a significant leap forward for the marine renewables market and cable repair responsiveness.
