Next Geosolutions secures key subsea survey projects
Next Geosolutions has won two major contracts worth €41 million to support subsea surveys for key offshore renewables projects in the North Sea.
The contracts with Prysmian involve surveying the Eastern Green Links (EGL) 1 and 2, crucial submarine power cable systems connecting Scotland and England. These high-capacity HVDC electrical superhighways will play a pivotal role in strengthening the UK’s renewable energy network.

Advanced survey
During these contracts, Next Geosolutions will deploy advanced offshore vessels equipped with cutting-edge tools like MacArtney Focus ROTVs and Work-Class HD Schilling ROVs to conduct detailed topographical, geophysical and geotechnical surveys.
The data gathered will guide the design and engineering of the submarine cable routes, ensuring the success of these transformative projects.
Activities for EGL1 will commence in Q2 2025 and conclude by Q4 2025, while EGL2’s surveys will run from Q2 to Q4 2026. Both projects are vital to advancing the UK’s renewable energy transition and enhancing sustainable infrastructure.
