NextGeo wins TenneT survey deal

The project forms part of TenneT’s Roadmap 2030 programme and will support the development of export cable infrastructure connecting offshore wind farms to onshore energy facilities.

The surveys are designed to assess the technical feasibility of the cable corridor, identify seabed obstacles and support engineering and design activities ahead of cable installation.

Under the deal, NextGeo will carry out geophysical and geotechnical marine surveys along the proposed cable route, including seabed mapping, deep soil sampling and analyses down to 40 metres. The company will also conduct unexploded ordnance detection and obstacle identification to minimise operational risks during construction.

Operations are scheduled to take place in nearshore and tidal areas within the Voordelta – Nederwiek 3 offshore wind zone, with completion expected by the third quarter of 2026.
