‘Pivotal’ subsea survey services signed to prepare grid

Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has been signed by 50Hertz, the German grid developer and operator, to provide subsea survey services over the next eight years in the North and Baltic Seas.

The work will be vital for ensuring substations can be installed with a view to building more offshore wind farms to supply power to the onshore grid.

“The framework agreement has a foreseen multi-million euro value per year over the eight years, smphasizing NextGeo’s developing position as a reference partner in Europe’s offshore renewabvle markets, dedicated to advancing the energy transition,” says NextGeo.

The survey activities will be carried out by, among other vessels, geotechnical drilling vessel NG Driller, the 73m x 16.6m survey vessel that has drilling capabilities of up to 1,000m combined water and borehole depth (max water depth 700m).

Napoli, Italy-based NextGeo is part of the Marnavi Group, which means it has access to all of Marnavi’s 14 offshore vessels as well as its own.
