Damen Shipyards of Gorinchem has delivered the ASD Tug 3110 Righa 1 to Enterprise Portuaire de Skikda (PS) of Algeria. The 30.8m vessel is powered by two MAK 6M20 diesels generating a total of 3058bhp to drive a pair of Rolls Royce US 155 fully azimuthing propulsion units. On trials the tug achieved a bollard pull of 36.80 tonnes ahead and 32.8 tonnes astern, and a free running speed of 12.4 knots.

Righa 1 is intended for towing, mooring, water transfer, fire fighting and pollution control, and has considerably less installed power than many previous vessels of the ASD 3110 type.

UK based marine contractors Sea Structures Ltd have sold the tug/workboat Kinnel – better known to many in the industry as the former Kinghow. A ‘PushyCat’ 1400, built in 1984 the 14.5m twin-screw vessel is powered by two DAF main engines rated at 430bhp (total).

The tug has been sold to the Holyhead Towing Company and will be renamed North Stack.

HvS Dredging Support BV of Harlingen have sold the twin screw tug Zwerver I, prior to the imminent arrival of a new triple screw, multi-purpose, work vessel.

Well known around the coasts of Europe and Britain, Zwerver 1 was reported sold some months ago to the Russian based, Caspian Marine Services Group.

The 20.2m, shallow draft, tug was built at Harlingen in 1994 and powered by two 368 bhp Cummins main engines.

In order to improve the services to their clients and increase their share of the coastal towage market Felixarc Marine Services Ltd has taken over the ship-handling tug Sun London from the parent group Adsteam.

The single screw tug was one of a series of similar vessels built in 1977 and is powered by a Ruston 240M main engine rated at 2640bhp. Well suited to coastal and short sea work Sun London has a bollard pull of 45 tonnes and is fitted with a towing winch.
