Brazilian Offshore Services (BOS) a joint venture company, owned 50/50 by Farstad ofAlesund in Norway and Petroserve of Brazil, has been awarded long term contracts by Petrobras for the provision of two anchor-handling tug supply vessels. Two new Rolls Royce UT 722L vessels have been ordered to cover two contracts, each requiring a slightly different specification. Brazilian yard Estaleiro Itajai has been chosen to build the vessels, which will be completed to a very high standard. When the two vessels enter service in 2005 Farstad and BOS will have a combined fleet of 12 offshore support vessels operating for the Brazilian state oil company Petrobras in Brazilian waters.
