Diverse hands over latest CTV in Ambitious delivery

OEG Fulmar has been supplied under Diverse Marine’s Marine Finance & Lease programme, which the company set up in 2023 as a UK first for CTV owners and operators to help them finance or lease the vessels they need.

Designed by Chartwell Marine, the vessel is 26 metres long with four MAN D2862 main engines, giving it a top speed of 26 knots.

With the recent 8.4GW of offshore wind contracts awarded in the latest UK auction round, there is bound to be some optimism in the sector with demand for such vessels likely to remain stable.

“It’s certainly a big confidence boost, which I think we all wanted,” said Andy Page, managing director of Chartwell Marine.

“We’ve all been looking forward – obviously there have been a couple of rounds where there’d been challenges with the number of bidders participating and the value proposition for developers, so to see such a significant investment and level of confidence in the UK sector is really, really good news.

“It helps shipyards in their investment programmes, stock programmes and moreover, vessel owners have more confidence and they’re moire likely to build better for the UK supply chain and UK jobs. It was very good news to start the year on.”

The Diverse Marine Client Finance Programme provides a mechanism whereby the shipyard funds the construction of the vessels, giving the owner/operator the ability to ‘collect’ the vessel on completion through term finance or long-term lease options.
