Diverse Marine prepares to launch greenest craft yet

Built by Diverse Marine in collaboration with designer Chartwell Marine, the vessel has now had its Volvo Penta IPS drives installed, with electronics and interior fit-out well advanced.

With dual-purpose capability – it can operate as a nearshore CTV or deploy from a mothership SOV or CSOV via a single-point lift davit system – extensive computational fluid dynamics modelling and physical tank testing have shaped a hull designed to outperform comparable craft, Diverse Marine director Ben Colman says.

Emissions have been central to the design brief, with inboard propulsion systems fitted with IMO Tier 3 exhaust after-treatment.

The Purus craft arrives as Diverse Marine demonstrates growing momentum across its wider portfolio. The company’s Brevity Light Class CTV line – also designed by Chartwell Marine – has now reached its 10th stock build, a sub-24m vessel fitted with transom foils for improved hydrodynamic efficiency, smoother passages and reduced fuel consumption. The second-of-class follows Stock Build 9 and is engineered to meet both Workboat Code and HSOSC load-line requirements.
