European first for Cat genset at Seawork
Finning UK & Ireland will debut the compact Cat C2.2B generator set at Seawork this year, marking the gensets first European appearance.
The Cat C2.2B is designed to support vessel propulsion and onboard power needs for smaller commercial craft. Suitable for pilot and crew transfer vessels, it’s well suited to operations where less engine noise while loitering offshore is required.
“The Cat C2.2B genset is a really innovative model so we’re excited to be showcasing it at Seawork,” said Stephen Caldwell, sales manager project engines (Marine, Oil and Gas) at Finning UK & Ireland.
“Its versatility, cost of running and ease of use make it perfect for commercial operators.”
Improved efficiency
Finning said that the Cat C2.2B represents a new benchmark in compact, smart vessel power systems.
The 2.2-litre unit offers flexible installation, quiet operation and low maintenance demands. With its low noise profile and external customer connection panel, the Cat C2.2B has been designed for vessel power efficiency and usability.
Finning said that its ability to manage parallel operation from battery systems, shore power, or other energy sources is a standout feature in such a compact unit.
This innovative genset aligns with growing industry demand for efficient and flexible vessel propulsion solutions that meet both operational and environmental standards.
Finning’s stand at Seawork this year will also include the Cat C7.1 and C32 propulsion engines, offering further insight into the company’s scalable power solutions.
