European jack-up fleet brings 6th vessel on board

Built in 2011, the 139m x 41m Wind Discovery has been registered in Denmark and Ziton says it helps ‘make us able to provide major component replacement services to all segments of the offshore wind industry’.

This addition strengthens our position as a trusted service provider in the offshore wind sector with the largest fleet of operational jack-up vessels.”

Ziton began in 2007 as Dansk Bjergning og Bugsering with the acquisition of the vessel Wind, one of the first jack-up vessels to work in the offshore wind sector. 

The following year, the company formed a separate entity, DBB Jack-Up Services, and two years later upgraded Wind for a three-year charger with Siemens.

Following investment into the company by BWB Partners, two other vessels were bought and chartered, and the name of the company was changed to Ziton in 2016.

By September 2024, Ziton operated five jack-up vessels and had struck agreements with Siemens Gamesa and Vestas. The company was bought by Macquarie Asset Management.
