Penguin to build fast supply vessel for Senegal

Designed by Incat Crowther, the catamaran hull form is based on Penguin’s WindFlex-32 crew transfer vessel, with an LOA of 36.4 metres, capacity of 32 personnel and top speed of 33.5 knots.

Four Caterpillar C32 engines will power the vessel, propelled by four Hamilton HTX52 jets.

The vessel will have a large 62m³ foredeck, with a dedicated, enclosed cargo area and a FROG crew transfer crane.

Incat Crowther says the design ’represents a unique blend of features from the offshore wind and offshore oil and gas sectors’, and will be fitted with the latest emissions reduction technology to ensure it is IMO III compliant – altrhough it did not give details of what that technology is.

“This project will add to the growing number of work boats and CTVs servicing the global offshore energy sector that have been designed and delivered by Incat Crowther and Penguin International,” said Sam Mackay, Incat Crowther technical manager.
