ScottishPower signs €18m vessels deal

Caister-based NR Marine Services and Great Yarmouth’s OEG will provide vital support for the construction of the 1.4GW East Anglia Three offshore windfarm, part of ScottishPower’s expanding offshore renewables portfolio.

Vessel expertise

NR Marine will deploy two crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to the project, including the state-of-the-art NR Rebellion – a 25m hybrid Typhoon Class CTV built by Diverse Marine on the Isle of Wight.

The vessel will ferry up to 24 personnel at a 26-knot service speed and operate from the Port of Lowestoft.

Meanwhile, OEG’s support vessel Tess, chosen for its long-duration offshore capability, will handle guard operations at sea.

East Anglia Three, due in 2026, will be the second largest offshore windfarm globally, powering more than 1.3 million homes.
