VIDEO: New pilot boat navigates Storm Agnes on launch
Another 15m Interceptor 48 pilot boat has been launched for operations in Morocco, making it the fourth one for Svitzer by Safehaven Marine.
Svitzer Oued Laou is the 58th pilot boat delivered by Ireland-based Safehaven Marine and the fourth Interceptor 48 for Svitzer. She will carry out pilotage operations in Tanger Med 2, Morocco.
The vessel runs on a pair of Volvo D13 500hp engines, ZF gearboxes and a conventional shaft drive, giving an operational speed of 25 knots and accommodation for seven crew.
Safehaven’s MOB recovery system is fitted on the transom, and the boat is self righting.
In the main cabin is a central helm position with the full array of navigation equipment, together with its own ECDS navigation display.
