ZeroUSV to launch autonomous charter fleet

The unveiling of the vessel, which is now ready for commissioning and integration trials from its home port in Plymouth, marks a significant milestone after 18 months of design, engineering and collaboration.

The Oceanus12’s development builds on the success of the Mayflower 400’s autonomous transatlantic voyage, a joint effort by ZeroUSV’s parent company MSubs, Promare and MarineAI. The launch of this first vessel in the series is just the beginning, with vessels two, three and four slated for completion soon, and an official boat naming ceremony set for spring.

Designed for long-distance, over-the-horizon operations, the Oceanus12 is capable of tasks ranging from asset monitoring and geophysical surveys to border control and defence. ZeroUSV’s charter business model has generated significant interest, with opportunities for these first two vessels.

Equipped with a hybrid-electric drive, twin drives for redundancy, integrated sensors and MarineAI’s Guardian software, the Oceanus12 has a 2,500 nautical mile range.
