Primarily specialising in commercial marine vessels, the privately-owned business has experienced significant growth in the past year, attributing much of its success to Seawork.

WMD’s fellow Seawork exhibitor, Manor Renewable Energy placed its order for its second WMD-designed 26 metre wind farm service vessel (WFSV) 2018 (pictured), which is being built by its sister company, Manor Marine. The first 26m WFSV, Manor Venture, was launched in 2017.

James Walker, Naval Architect and MD of Walker Marine Design, and who was awarded the title of the European Commercial Marine Awards’ Maritime Professional of the year in 2018, comments, “I can truly credit Seawork for many of WMD’s successes and resultant growth. The exhibition’s audience is a great match to our offerings, plus the unique mix of networking, meetings and on-water demonstrations provide a varied mix which perfectly showcases our business.”

Walker Marine Design, which is located near Southampton in Hamble, UK, works with many of Europe’s foremost boat and shipbuilders, delivering a diverse array of designs including houseboats, pilot vessels, fire and rescue craft, and multirole workboats.
