Shock Mitigation Solutions has announced a strategic alliance with SKYDEX Technologies which will help grow the latter’s brand and expand its business.

As part of the alliance, Shock Mitigation Solutions will be using its experience to integrate SKYDEX cushioning solutions into marine and special projects.

John Haynes, managing director of Shock Mitigation Solutions, said: “We believe that SKYDEX impact mitigating boat decking, seat cushion inserts and PPE products can significantly improve comfort and safety for crew and passengers on all types of powerboats, RIBs and workboats worldwide.”

Impact absorption

SKYDEX utilises geometries and polymer structures for cushioning and impact absorption. The company engineers its technologies to meet specific requirements for performance and durability.

The SKYDEX impact mitigating seat cushion inserts are available in a range of tuned performance layers and thicknesses. They can reduce the effects of Whole Body Vibration (WBV) within the existing seat footprint and with no weight gain. The technology also improves comfort levels for those onboard.

Impact Mitigating Boat Decking from SKYDEX is available in a range of products and thicknesses, depending on the level of mitigation required. SKYDEX decking can be fitted on new boats or as a retro-fit solution to reduce the effects of shock and vibration for any craft. The durable top surface offers excellent grip in a wide range of conditions.

SKYDEX Shock Mitigating Seat Cushion Inserts finished in runner up position in the Marine equipment, Electronics and Materials section of the Seawork Innovations Showcase 2019. What particularly impressed the judges about the product was its easy fit as a no maintenance, reasonably priced solution for light duty, short duration shock mitigation for the hundreds of small single console RIBs used in roles such as sailing club safety boat duties.
