The UK National Oceanography Centre in Southampton is to host a second Marine Autonomy and Technology Showcase from 14-18 November.
Following a similar well-attended inaugural event last year, the week-long programme will once more consist of a series of specialist workshops, talks, demonstrations and networking opportunities by way of responding to what the NOC says is a growing desire of marine technology businesses to engage with its research base for further development of autonomous systems.
To be held at the NOC’s waterfront site, much of its newly-opened Marine Robotics Innovation Centre will be used for the event along with resident conference facilities. Commenting on its staging, Kevin Forshaw, the organisation’s Associate Director for Innovation and Enterprise says: “We are currently engaged with in excess of £10m of R&D collaborative projects with industry partners, and this showcase will be both a celebration of those partnerships and, we hope, a catalyst for yet more resourceful ventures.”
The main event website including a preliminary agenda is at NOCevents@noc.ac.uk
