Oil/debris skimmer looking to grow
A company which has developed a new concept for simultaneous recovery of marine debris and oil spills is looking for interested third parties to help take the project forward.
Oil Spill Recovery Europe Ltd’s test vessel Seaskip, which looks like a floating cigar box, promises ease of manufacturing at comparatively little cost for a system which will work even in choppy waters. A pair of extending, controllable guide booms direct oil and debris into the floating skip, where it separated for removal to barges at sea or, in the case of spilled oil, pumped into containers at a shoreside reception facility.
